Everyone is Welcome
At Osaka JALT, we know that our community is stronger when everyone has the opportunity to participate, connect, and share ideas.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences, and creating an inclusive and supportive environment for our members, officers, speakers, volunteers, and event participants is extremely important to us. We understand that everyone’s needs are different. Accessibility includes making our website easy to use, providing clear information, and creating events where people can participate comfortably and confidently, both online or in person.

We are working to make our website, communications, and events as accessible as possible.
We aim to support participants by considering:

Website, Social Media, and Online Communications

  • Following the JALT Accessibility Guidelines
  • Providing clear and easy-to-understand information
  • Using accessible formats and accessibility tools wherever possible
  • Considering people who use assistive technologies
  • Creating content that is easy for everyone to access and navigate
  • Using a variety of platforms to communicate
  • Providing multilingual information

Events and Activities

  • Choosing venues that are as accessible as possible, including consideration of mobility needs
  • Supporting different seating and access requirements where possible
  • Considering dietary needs, allergies, and food preferences when refreshments or meals are provided
  • Implementing reasonable accommodations that may help participants take part fully

If you have any accessibility needs or questions before an event, please let us know. We would be happy to hear from you and work with you to make your participation as comfortable as possible. Contact us at dei@osakajalt.org, or comment/DM on the social media site that you used to access the event information.

Our Commitment

Creating an accessible community is an ongoing journey. We know there is always more we can learn and improve, and we value the feedback and experiences of our community members.

If you have any suggestions for improving accessibility, a question, or encounter a barrier when using our website or participating in an Osaka JALT activity, please let us know at dei@osakajalt.org.
